“We started with this school in September. It is great to have 3 different teachers that each of them have own focus area, but we can apply the learning cross lessions. Learning to listen different Polish teachers. Lessons are both educative and fun.”

Step 1 of 2: your goal
Learning Polish, answered.
What people usually ask before their first lesson.
How long does it take to learn Polish for citizenship?
Most learners reach B1, the level the citizenship exam requires, after 6–12 months of regular lessons. It depends on where you start and whether you already speak a Slavic language. We focus on speaking and listening, because that's what the exam tests.
What Polish level do I need for the citizenship exam?
To be recognized as a Polish citizen, you need Polish at B1 level as a minimum, officially confirmed with a certificate. In practice, that means you can talk about everyday topics, follow spoken instructions and read simple official documents. Those are the skills our citizenship lessons train.
Does TAKTalk issue the official B1 certificate?
No. The certificate comes from Poland's state examination system, not from us. You take the exam at an accredited center in a city like Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław or Łódź, after preparing with us. You register directly with the exam center. Registration usually opens about two months before each of the five yearly sessions (February, April, June, October and December). The exam has its own fee, roughly 730 zł, on top of your TAKTalk package. Your teachers can help you time your lessons around the session you're aiming for.
Are lessons live or pre-recorded?
Always live. You meet your native-speaking teachers on a video call, in a small group or one-on-one. We don't sell pre-recorded courses, so every lesson adapts to how you're actually doing.
Will I always have the same teacher?
No. Your lessons are shared across several of our teachers, and each one teaches in their own way, so you get variety rather than a single fixed style. You can see all your teachers in your dashboard, and if you'd like a change, ask our support team.
Do I need to already speak a Slavic language?
No. You can start from zero. Your teachers teach in English or Russian, whichever you're more comfortable with, and set the pace to match.
What happens in a citizenship exam mock interview?
Your teacher asks the same kinds of questions as the official B1 exam (your background, your daily routine, your opinions) with similar time pressure. Afterwards you go through your answers together and see exactly where you lost points.
Can I cancel my lessons or get a refund?
Yes. There's no long-term contract. You can cancel any single lesson for free with more than 24 hours' notice. If you withdraw from a package, we refund the unused lessons proportionally, as set out in our terms.
Can I change groups?
Yes. If a group doesn't suit you, we move you to another group.
What if my group doesn't fill?
A group with fewer than 3 students does not start. If that happens, we move you to another group as quickly as we can.
What languages can I take lessons in?
English or Russian, alongside Polish. Choose your preferred language in the quote form and we'll match you with teachers who teach in it.
How does the free quote work?
Fill in the short form on this page with your goal and level. On business days, we reply within 24 hours with suggested teachers, a package recommendation and a plan for your first lesson. It's free, and you're under no obligation to enroll.
